Ecuador
Orphanges Support Services Organization (OSSO)
OSSO has been serving orphanages in Quito and Cuenca, Ecuador for the last ten years. They have sent thousands of volunteers to help lift the burden of the overcrowded institutions. They offer assistance providing desperately needed services like food, diapers, employees, medical attention, social work, therapy, tutoring and school supplies to as many of the orphanages as they can. MFC helps support these services and in 2007 MFC and OSSO built a new orphanage, Los Pequinitos de OSSO, that allowed OSSO to take over official custody of currently 24 children. Los pequinitios mainly care for babies and special needs children, with the goal of them growing up in as close to a family setting as can be provided.
You can sponsor an orphaned child in Ecuador for as little as one dollar a day.
